This page explains what personal data is collected when you use this website or get in touch, why it is collected, how long it is kept and how you can ask for it to be changed or removed.

Who is responsible for your data
Scale Smarter is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and through direct enquiries.

What data is collected
Only the data needed to answer enquiries, run engagements and understand how the website is used.
Enquiry and contact details
Name, email address, company and anything you choose to write in the contact form or in an email. Collected so I can reply to you and assess whether the work is a good fit.
Booking details
When you book a fit call, the scheduling tool records your name, email address and the meeting time you select, plus anything you add to the booking notes.
Website analytics
Aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, referring site, device and browser type. Used to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site.
Client project information
During an engagement I may hold business documents, product data and contact details for the people I work with. This is handled under the terms of the relevant client agreement.

Why your data is used
Personal data is used to:
- Respond to enquiries and arrange introductory calls
- Prepare proposals and deliver agreed consulting work
- Keep records of business correspondence and agreements
- Understand how the website is used and improve it
- Meet legal, accounting and tax obligations
The legal bases relied on are legitimate interest (responding to business enquiries and improving the site), performance of a contract (delivering agreed work), consent (analytics cookies where required) and legal obligation (financial records).
Your details are never sold, rented or shared for third-party advertising.

Tools and third parties
A small number of trusted providers process data on behalf of Scale Smarter:
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, they rely on their own safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to measure how pages are used, and HubSpot to run the contact form and booking scheduler. These tools set cookies in your browser.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or use a browser-level opt-out. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading the site, though the embedded contact form may not load.

How long data is kept
Enquiry and contact data is kept for two years from our last meaningful contact, after which it is deleted.
Records that must be retained for legal, accounting or tax reasons are kept for as long as the relevant law requires, and for no longer than necessary.

Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data held about you
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Object to or restrict how your data is used
- Withdraw consent for analytics or marketing at any time
- Ask for your data in a portable format
To make a request, email hello@scalesmarter.io. Requests are normally answered within one month. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to your local data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.

Security and changes
Data is held in reputable business tools protected by access controls and strong authentication, and access is limited to what is needed to run the consultancy. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive material through the contact form.
This policy may be updated as the business or the tools it uses change. The date at the top of the page shows the most recent revision.
